LIke most things 'Tremulant' The Eric Medley band is not a single moded, full time entity. It is a very nebulous, random assortment of characters who occasionally get together to make music. It's most obvious permanent member is myself. I write and perform a lot as a soloist. I perform in Coffee Houses, Churches and music venues of all sorts of flavors and sizes.

However, there are others who join me that do indeed constitute a full-fledged band. This includes Mark Hansen on guitars, Case Maranville on bass and a variety of drummers such as Shane Coop, CT or Casey Kinan. (Although Shane and Casey have moved away.) Norm Schaeffer has been known to grace the stage on occasion with his guitar. Also you'll occasionally find Mayme and Jason Keagy. (although, they have moved away to Wisconsin) Many have stepped up to sing backup vocals.

I really consider myself a music producer and audio engineer. This ongoing project is more or less an outlet that has become more than was intended. Work begins on my third solo project in the Fall of 2004 and will probably continue for a while longer. No release date has been set. It will be done when it's done...

My music is a rather strange melange of the many musical genres I've produced over the years. I am a self-professed 'stealer of other peoples talents and ideas..' I like old musical things quite a bit and use them whenever possible. I like wood or flesh best of all. Second comes metal and glass, then electrons coursing their way through wire. I also like to incorporate the music of billions of mathematical calculations per second. Perhaps my most notable instrument of choice is the human voice. I love to sing and incorporate lots of vocals in all my compositions.

Probably my most hated topic of discussion is, "'what does your music sound like? What does it speak about?" A clinical diagnosis would probably be, "it's a alternative rock, power pop, roots rock, old-school country, singer-songwriter variety, with a touch of electronica thrown in." I'm not saying that it's something completely new or fresh because it's not. I'm just a song-writer / poet who's writing down what's going on in my head. A lot of people like it. Many do not. I have a few watershed songs that really resonate with people. They sometimes offer me the most high honor of asking me to play for them or performing them themselves for what ever purpose they need. This pleases me well. I'm only trying to help. And, as with all things human, many people are very helpful to me.

I write songs that deal with my life and spirit. I am a Christian who professes the faith and the creeds. To me, God is all things and in all things. It is impossible to extricate Him from anything I do. I make no apologies for this. I would stop quite short of saying that my music is 'Christian Music,' however. You'll, more than likely, never hear my kind of music on mainstream Christian radio. My music is not what you'd probably label as 'Worship or Praise' music. I must admit to not caring for that style of music. I'm quite open and honest about my disdain for what is called 'Christian Pop.' I don't question their mission. I just think it's pretty poor music. It's only my opinion and it hurts no one. However, I would be the last person to say that you should play my music on Sunday morning. It's just not built for that kind of thing. If you like things like Radio Head, Peter Gabriel, Johnny Cash, U2, Toad The Wet Sproket, Norah Jones, Jonatha Brooke, Buddy and Julie Miller, (the list goes on) you might like my music.

If you're interested, I print my lyrics on the site just in case you can't understand what I say. Many people have had questions about them and I love to answer them. Just email me with any questions or arguments you have. Thanks!

Here's some pics to look at.

This was from 2000 taken by my wife. It was late winter and we were walking near the Folsom Children's Zoo. I used it for a promotional poster. This was taken at a neat place in Norfolk Nebraska by Mayme Keagy. This was also taken by Mayme at The Bridge. It was their first night. The percussionist is Casey Kinan This was in Des Moines, IA at New Journeys. With the band.

I love this picture. This is Casey Kinan in my living room at our old house just prior to recording the drum tracks for Shine. He, like me, is not a morning person. Here we see Casey preparing himself mentally over a steamy cup-a-Joe. I loved this room for recording. Solid Red Oak flooring and oyster plaster walls. This is a very cool pic of our third performance at The Bridge in Lincoln. Pictured here is the band in it's full glory. Present are myself on acoustic, Mayme Keagy on backup vox, Mark Hansen (far left) on electric guitars, Casey Kinan - drums, Case Maranville (middle right) on Bass and Jason Keagy (far right) on Hammond B3 and piano. This was the cover of the weekly music publication 'Ground Zero'. Thanks to them for permission to use this photo. Here we are in a church in Des Moines IA at "Chicken and a Band" nuff said...
